Reflections on the last decade…

Looking forward as we move into the new year, January is always great for reflecting on what’s gone well in the past too.

So here are a few of my favourite briefs from over the last 10 years; including logos, brochures, websites and infographics. With huge thanks to everyone that has supported Creative Joy over the last decade…

 

 

Understanding Society  |  University of Essex  | Youth Campaign Pack

Understanding Society is an innovative, internationally important study, following the lives of people living in the UK. It is the largest longitudinal study of its kind and provides crucial information for researchers and policy makers on the causes and consequences of change in people’s lives. This campaign was commissioned to persuade the young people, aged 15+, to migrate to the adult study; to continue to contribute rather than to drop out at this stage.

From the client’s brief I created this campaign from scratch; including the catchy headlines and bold graphics for the campaign wallet and each of the items within. My initial concepts steered the direction of the campaign and the client was then able to write copy content for the booklet and leaflet etc. I worked with Greenshoots to create the bespoke A5+ campaign wallets, containing:

• A5 8-page concertina booklet
• A5 6-page roll-fold leaflet
• A6 4-page change of address card
• A6 call-to-action postcard

 

 

Kingsfleet Wealth  |  Client welcome brochure

This neat A5 brochure provides a friendly introduction to this fantastic local business, consolidating the information into easy-to-digest sections. Kingsfleet Wealth’s brand identity features a sailing boat – as a metaphor for navigating changeable financial waters – so the imagery throughout the brochure builds on this metaphor, with photographic imagery and sophisticated typography bringing the content to life.

 

 

St Alban’s  |  Sixth Form Prospectus

I was commissioned to design a new Prospectus that would showcase the school’s best assets and appeal to prospective pupils and their parents. Collaborating with a talented local photographer and print specialists Greenshoots, I organised the entire project from concept through to delivery. The client was “delighted” with the new Sixth Form Prospectus, and subsequently proceeded to order a redesign of their main school Prospectus. I have had the pleasure of refreshing both Prospectuses each year since 2015.

CTC independent performing arts college  |  Foundation Course Prospectus

I’ve had the privilege of working with CTC since 2010, designing theatre programmes and marketing material to support their award-winning, full-scale musical productions. With the growing reputation as one of the finest training centres in the East of England, CTC launched a full-time pre-vocational course in Musical Theatre in September 2019 and commissioned me to design their brand new Prospectus; this features a contemporary design style and showcases the state-of-the-art, purpose built studios and expert faculty, and ultimately excites prospective students.

 

 

Suffolk Skills Show  |  Brand identity plus complete event material for print and screen

Having designed the initial logo, I developed the brand identity over the entire marketing campaign and event material, for both print and digital, including:

• Website design
• Email signatures and TV slides
• Press ads
• Sponsor brochures
• Event handouts, maps, flags and banners

 

 

 

 

Suffolk Coasts & Heath  |  Cycle Explorer Guides

This range of five Cycle Explorer Guides, was designed to complement the existing Walking Guides – also by Suffolk Coast & Heaths – to encourage families to get outdoors and explore Suffolk’s wonderful Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Working within strict brand guidelines, I produced these guides from scratch; versions both for print and web.

These leaflets were designed to appeal to a wide range of demographics in the UK. The clean, vibrant illustrations are enticing and meaningful; signifying the possible additions of new members to a household.

 

 

 

West Cliff Theatre  |  Brand identity refresh and seasonal brochures

I was approached to redesign the Theatre’s quarterly ‘What’s On’ brochure, beginning with a complete brand refresh to bring the Theatre’s visual identity up-to-date and appeal to audiences old and new. This wonderful local Theatre attracts many big name performers, which course take precedence on the cover of each ‘What’s On’ brochure.

Aromapersonal  |  Brand identity and product range label design

Aromapersonal is a new range of products for those caring for a family member at home as well as those living independently. It uses the power and efficacy of professional grade hygiene products enhanced with premium perfumes and essential oils to meet the needs of carers and the cared for. I was privileged to design both the brand identity plus labels for the complete range of products.
